Tactics to OperateItRight™

Tactic 1: Pages You Must Include in Your Web site
 Contact Us Page – Giving clear instructions on how to contact you and what will happen when they do
 Frequently Asked Questions Page – Answering every imaginable question about your business and services that a potential client would have
 About Us Page – Explaining who you are and why you do what you do and what makes you one they should choose to solve their problems
 Services/Products Page – Listing of your services and products with a clear description of the item, how it will benefit the purchaser, and why they should buy it now.

Tactic 2: Functional, Easy to navigate and pretty to look at
Your Web site must be all those things if you want your visitors to learn about you and what you offer. How easy is it to get from one page to another? Do all the forms and links work? Does your site look professional or like your 6 year old designed it? Does your site load quickly, even if the visitor is on dialup?

Tactic 3: A Domain Name that’s Easy to Say, Easy to Spell, Easy to Remember
Use a domain name that’s easy to remember, easy to spell and most importantly easy to say. If your domain looks like mysite.homestead.com or freewebs.com/mysite, you are taking away from your professionalism. Plus, it takes a minute to spell mysite.homestead.com when telling someone about your Web site in a conversation.

Tactic 4: Use Clear and Concise Web Content
Make sure the content on your Web site is easy to read, clear and concise. Focus on the client and the benefits they are going to achieve working with you and your company. Keep your paragraphs short, about three to five sentences each. Write conversationally, and use bullets points as much as possible for those who scan.

Tactic 5: Use a Signature File
A signature file is not only a great way to ensure the reader of your email has your contact information, but it’s also a great advertising tool. Add your tagline, Web site address and a short blurb about your business or product.

Tactic 6: Create Free Reports or an eCourse
Giving away a free report or an eCourse from your Web site is a great way to prove you understand the problems of your target market and that you are a credible source to solve their problems. An eCourse is also a great way to keep in touch since you send an email every couple of days.

A free report and eCourse are a great way to build a list of prospects that are interested in what you offer/do.

Tactic 7: Send Press Releases to Media Online & Offline
Free publicity has more pull than paid advertising. Write a press release about a newsworthy item in your company, like your free report or high profile client, or new brand. Once you’ve written your press release, submit it to online press distribution sites and local and targeted area media.
